Job Description:
· Lead by example to promote a robust and transparent safety culture.
· Follow and support safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of workplace safety.
· Design, draw and create blueprints, plans and floor plans for clients. Develop conceptual images and ideas to help bring a client’s vision to life.
· Control project approach from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design.
· Identify client needs to create construction briefs, feasibility reports, architectural plans, and design proposals.
· Capture and track all insight gathered from business development meetings, client meetings, or value exercises to help align the design with the client’s expectations.
· Follow and share architectural trends and advancements with team and leadership.
· Ensure that all designs, plans, programming and schematics are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.
· Develop architectural plans in line with client needs, building usage and environmental impact.
· Work with estimating to craft a design within budget.
· Work with project team to design a project that is capable of meeting client or regional schedule expectations.
· Proactively work with internal and external project teams to resolve and diminish constructability issues before construction begins.
· Approve submittals and respond clearly, efficiently and in a timely manner to RFI’s.
· Clearly communicate project specifications, finishes, and fixtures.
· Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for all in-house questions and clarifications, within reason.
· Work with and publicly present at design and planning Commissions, town boards, city councils and governmental leadership, inspection and zoning leaders and municipalities.
· Update project plans and addendums.
· Partners with business development and operational leaders to entertain current and potential clients for increased partnerships.
· Work with business development and operational leaders early in the process to explore client wants and needs and to develop a plan to exceed client expectations. Proactively participate in client interviews, client lunches and client engagement activities.
· Lead the design and client engagement efforts throughout the preconstruction, construction and post construction to ensure effective client management, communication- both written and verbal, and project success.
· Attend and participate in pre-project job walks, scheduling meetings and estimating handoff processes for design/build projects. Ensure or seek out any information that is required to have a clear picture of the client needs and project expectations.
· Build a professional and productive relationship with clients/owners, owners reps, engineers, consultants, other architects, subcontractors and construction managers to ensure a positive customer experience and repeat/referral work.
· Serve as a resource for ownership including developing and directing internal processes for design/build department success and growth.
· Work with municipal partners including zoning officials, planning commissions, architectural review boards, and leadership to facilitate open communication, partnership and successful client advocacy.
· Support bid packages as needed. Prepare renderings, virtual graphics and assets to help increase J.H.Hassinger’s win rate and client acquisition efforts.
· Put together specs, samples, finish options and interior design schematics to meet client’s expectation and vision.
· Educate clients on permitting, zoning and constructability timelines, limitations and issues. Proactively mitigate client risk from the hazards by anticipating challenges and adapting designs to meet needed requirements.
· Lead the organization in trends and exciting evolutions in the design and construction industry.
· Educate business development partners and operational leadership on potential growth markets and expansion possibilities for the business in the design and design/build world.
· Lead and manage all client communication on design project status, next steps, needs, expectations and delivery.
· Work with Yard and Procurement Manager to create new layouts and shop drawings, as needed, for J.H. Hassinger.
· Attend and helps plan special events including golden shovels ceremonies, groundbreaking events, and ribbon cuttings. Attend subcontractor and client appreciation events. Serve as an Ambassador and Brand Representative for J.H. Hassinger to the client and project partners.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree, vocational training, certification from an accreditation organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
• Valid Driver's License and ability to meet commercial insurance requirements, CDL preferred
• Ability to lift, carry or hold 26-50 lbs. more than 10 times per day
• Ability to perform low posture, crouching, crawling, kneeling or squatting activities
• Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays
• Ability to clearly communicate with others and convey information effectively
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Ability to manage own time and the time of others
• Ability to motivate, develop and direct people
• Knowledge of commercial construction materials, means and methods, and equipment preferred
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources preferred
