Waupaca Salt Shed

Waupaca County recognized the necessity of enhancing maintenance for state roads, leading to the construction of an additional salt shed at their recently established Department of Public Works (DPW) site. Positioned to the south of Highway 10 along County A, this 3rd facility, alongside existing structures, would add to the storage of salt and sand for road maintenance purposes.

Waupaca County selected J.H. Hassinger to undertake the construction of the third building in the project. This new structure posed a unique challenge as it was strategically positioned between two pre-existing salt sheds. In the process, the builders employed extensive amounts of concrete and carpentry techniques. The resulting salt shed, measuring 112 feet by 80 feet, was crafted to seamlessly blend with the design of the existing buildings.
